Notes:

I transcribed the above information from images provided on CD - the St Austell Primitive Methodist Circuit CD - by Sheila and Stephen Townsend, of www.CornwallLegacy.com To prepare their CD they accessed the actual baptism Registers held at Cornwall Record Office, Truro. I noted some apparent inaccuracies on the above list, which I queried with Sheila and Stephen Townsend. Sheila in turn kindly revisited the Cornwall Register Office to check. The outcome is that the details above which look odd are not inaccuracies, the information shown is that which is written on the original register.

Here is Sheila's reply....

Hello Liz, I have been to the Record office and checked your queries. I note that I have put [sic] on the Dinnick entry which means "thus" as I realized that the Minister had made a mistake but that is what he put. The Warren entry is in brackets meaning occupation as it does not state maiden name. It is quite common not to give a birth date and there is not one for James Stone. As for the Stephens family it was quite common for Methodists to be baptized when they were older - sometimes there was not a chapel before and sometimes they were baptized in another church or chapel when younger and when the parnts changed religion they were baptized again. Another possibility is that the parents could not afford to baptize them before. I hope this answers your questions,
Best wishes, Sheila
