Photography Club - Weekly at Welcome Hall

Plymouth and District Photography Club

Set up in late 2009, this is a brand new photography club, meeting every Wednesday at the Welcome Hall, 4 Fore Street, Devonport, PL1 4DN, for a 7pm start.

The newly formed group is looking for members to come along, to share, learn and help each other, no matter what stage you're at - whether you are only thinking of buying a camera, or a professional who has everything, all are welcome. The fee is only £2.00 per night PP, even for non members. Tea/coffee is 30p with a biscuit or 2 is 40p. Raffle is 50p a ticket

The focus of the club is all about learning, helping each other, and putting into practice what you have learned.

  • There will be speakers
  • There will be tutorials on all manner of things including Photoshop
  • Studio evening with models, lights etc
  • Critique sessions.
  • The club has access to minibuses and will be putting on regular trips.

Founder Member

The club was formed by Ross Haxton who says "I formed the group to teach, educate and simplify the functions and use of a camera.. we make everything understandable.. I have 6 others helping me to achieve this, all dedicated to the club".

Can you help?

The club is trying to secure some funding, as they wish to offer their services to people without equipment, so those who cannot afford them can at least come along and join. They would like to buy camera's, they also need a projector, a computer.... Can you help? Would you like to sponsor this new club? Or maybe you have equipment you can donate?
