Devonport Advertisements
As an art form, the earlier advertisments are more aesthetic and appealing; most
of them originating in the Victorian era - Ramsy's Furnishing advert below is a
good example.
Later Devonport adverts, especially since WWI, are more utilitarian in design, where
possibly the advertiser was more cost conscious than in the previous century - David
Sale's advert, c1930s, is an example.
