Devonport Dockyard - Officers in Charge 1690 to 1968
This photograph below was taken on a visit to the naval museum at Devonport. It is of a plaque containing a list of the OFFICERS IN CHARGE, HEAD OF THE CONSTRUCTIVE DEPARTMENT,
between 1690 and 1968. Over this period of time the title of the Officers in Charge
changed, from Master Shipwright, to Chief Constructors, then finally to Managers,
Constructive Department. I've transcribed the names into the table below, but the image is clear enough to zoom in for checking.
